Our Age Groups & Programmes

Scouting is all about adventure and learning through experience. At Tuam Scout Group, we offer a wide range of activities designed to challenge, engage, and inspire our members. Our activities include:

Beaver Scouts (Ages 6-8)

The journey begins with fun, friendship, and discovery. Beaver Scouts engage in creative play, team-building activities, and outdoor exploration. This early exposure to teamwork and nature sets the foundation for their future Scouting adventures.

Cub Scouts (Ages 9-11)

Cub Scouts delve deeper into adventure, learning new skills, and taking part in exciting activities. From camping and hiking to arts and crafts, Cubs are encouraged to explore their talents and grow in confidence. Their sense of teamwork and problem-solving skills are further developed at this stage.

Scouts (Ages 12-15)

Scouts are given more responsibility as they engage in more challenging activities, such as overnight camping trips, outdoor expeditions, and community service projects. This section fosters independence, leadership, and resilience. Scouts learn to solve problems, make decisions, and work effectively as part of a team.

Venture Scouts (Ages 15-17)

Venture Scouts take their adventures to the next level. They engage in high-adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, and international expeditions. Ventures also take part in leadership training, allowing them to mentor younger Scouts and contribute to their local communities through service projects.

Rover Scouts (Ages 18-25)

For young adults, the adventure continues with an emphasis on personal development, career readiness, and community service. Rovers participate in high-level expeditions and develop leadership skills, giving them the chance to mentor and support younger Scouts. Rovers also engage in local and global humanitarian initiatives.
